Hello everyone, Shaikh Jalal Ahmed from Fat Cow Motorsports. This is the bonus video, or you can call it the, okay, you've got Flat Ride, you've got Ride Harmony, now what? Now you want to, say, go cornering. So maybe beyond just smooth ride, you want to get the car to work at the limit, handle well, respond, adjust, handling balance, whatnot. So, this is a list of various items that you can tune. I hope the last one is visible. I think it is, yes. I'm going to go over this quickly for right now, and then I can go into it in more detail, but just to give you an overview. There's a lot of things you can tune, and often the damping is the last thing you need to go run for, because if you've done, as I suggest, give me corner weights, or give whoever is building your suspension corner weights, they ought to be able to optimize the setup based on the individual weight from left to right. so that you know you're putting in the correct weight left front, right front, left rear, right rear. This is what I do for all my setups, whether they're for race customers or street customers, it doesn't matter, because I've had people who needed to have stiffer springs on one side or the other, left or right, whatever the case is. Also, if you happen to be right-hand drive versus left-hand drive, right? Certain differences. So you can tune bump stops. Okay, you can adjust the density. So front suspension, if you want to make the car oversteer more, you can use a softer bump stop. This is a Speedthane, 58 millimeter red. It's 100 by 100 pounds per inch bump stop. This is a white. This is about 200 pounds per inch. So if this is the front of the car, you can, normally a factory's doing this. Normally you're getting front stiffer, 200-ish pounds, rear 100 or so. If you want to do like a street class autocross setup, something that makes the car rotate better, you can swap the two. Basically use a stiffer front or the same front and rear or use a stiffer rear. You can also use packers or bump stop spacers, which are these little gizmo doodads. You can get them from various vendors. You can make your own. and you basically will put the the bump stop goes in the shock shaft let's say it's already there and you want to add the pit the pack or the spacer you're going to snick it right let me try to get out of the way you're going to put it on like so if i can get it in there yeah it's nice satisfying snick and it's going to stay on the shaft it takes some effort to get it on so it means it takes some effort to get it off - the video is going to end okay four minutes two minutes probably okay so forcing me to do a short video! So packers spring rubbers oh darn it i left the spring over there okay donut it goes in between the spring coils this these are super handy helpful you can get them in very stiffnesses densities it goes this is a helper spring so it's not really going to want to fit around it but you can see it just goes inside the spring Sway bar adjustments. Obviously front and rear. This is where if you need a rear bar, you can use that. Same thing, having the front bar. You can tweak right heights up and down a little bit to just make subtle balance changes. And if you do it symmetrically, you're not going to change your corner weight. So make both rear or front, up or down a little bit. Alignment settings, obviously to use that you really need to make use of your tire pyrometer because the tire temperature is going to tell you whether your alignment, the sway bars, the spring rates, like are you getting good balance front and rear, right? So you need to get a tire pyrometer, and use it. and 949 Racing has an excellent guide it's fantastic so I highly recommend you go look at that guide. Right, get driver coaching get help have somebody who's better more adept to give you feedback or even somebody who just Especially if they're better than you It's very humbling and it's also very rewarding because ultimately you're the person who has to learn how to make the most use of the car. And often it's not the car that's the limitation, it's often the driver. But if you do the steps to get the right harmony working, then you have less chance of blaming the car setup because until that's the case, it usually is the car that's the problem.
